the letter to mom
The letter to mother
Mom, I want to get a tattoo, but don't worry. I understand what you think. You might be worried about the situation when I get a job. Boss would absolutely hate the worker who has tattoo. However, I just want the tattoo at the back of my shoulder and it would be very small. Also, it doesn’t hurt at all. I heard that making tattoos near bones is really hurt, but getting a tattoo at flesh doesn’t make me hurt. Yesterday, one of my friends gets a tattoo on her arm, and these days, I think almost every girl gets one or more tattoos. It doesn’t look like bad girl anymore. It has become the one of our generation’s cultures. I am old enough to do this without your permission, but I don’t want to make your feel bad. Please let me get a tattoo mom. I promise I will be a better daughter if you permit this one.

spring break
Including weekends, almost 10days are spring break; it’s awesome because there is no spring break during semester in Korea. I think it is good idea because many students are already exhausted with too much homework and test. It will be useful time to recover their and my energy.
Since I am an international student here, this vacation is also great time to go trip. So, I am planning to go San Francisco. When I was in Korea, I was really looking forward to going there. I think this vacation is chance to go San Francisco, so I and my friend decide to go from March 26 to 30. We are supposed to go Union Square, Telegraph Hill, Golden Gate Bridge, and Fisherman’s Warf. I heard that March and April are the best season for going there.
Also, March 30 is my homestay mom’s birthday. It is first time I can congratulate her birthday. I really expect to make her surprise. When I first came here, there was my birthday on January 31, I expected anything from my family, but they held surprising party to me. It makes good memory in my mind, so I’d really like to return my touching to her.
I think this vacation will be very happy time and memorable time in my life, and it can be. Until that, I will concentrate on my study, and enjoy my school life

my story
I have one little doggy which I’ve raised for 6 years. She is really lovely and cute, and she likes to look at my face. When she is looking at me, it seems that she is a human not an animal.
Also, whenever she needs something, for example there is shelf put her snacks; she pulls my arm and takes me to the shelf. It is really cute, but I used to think I really want to make her speak.
Actually, I can’t figure out whether she is sick or not, so I can’t take care of her well and don’t know which medicine do her take it. One day, I saw one woman who can talk with animals. She could find all problems that the animals have like missing their family, depression, and hurt mind.
I was really surprised about animals also can think and be hurt. So, if my doggy can speak I’d like to ask “do you love me?”, and I really want to here “yes I really love you” from her.

my diary
People mostly have a problem in their mind, and usually want to share it with others. However there are not many chances to talk their worry with others because it is too private in some cases, and it might be a big opportunity to change my life.
Before coming here, I was really concerned about weather going to America or staying Korea for graduating school. It gave lots of stress to me, and I didn’t know which is better. So, one day I met a friend who already has been to the America and I wanted some good advice from her. Actually that day, my mind is leaning toward going graduating school in Korea. After meeting her, however, I decide to go abroad firmly. She advised to me that if I go to America you will get a broad perspective and improve your listening skill. Also, there will be other chance to go graduating school but no chance to go abroad anymore.
If I made a decision alone, I would stay in Korea. However, thanks to her advice, I could make a better decision. Sometimes, even if he or she is younger than me, they can be great adviser. Don’t have trouble in decision making alone. Share with your friends, parents, and professors.

I love hamburger!
When I think about American food, hamburger comes up in my mind firstly. Hamburger is not only famous food in the America, but it gives a big impact for me. There are lots of fast food franchises from U.S such as Mc Donald, Wendy, INnOUT, and Burger king which can buy many kinds of hamburger. Especially, these days, Mc Donald is expanded all over the world.
Hamburger is convenient for many people to eat fast, and it is also very delicious, so lots of USA people eat hamburger 2~3 times a week or more. The people around the world usually point out the reason of American obesity is because of the hamburger.
However, each hamburger contains meat, bread, vegetable, and cheese which are necessary for our nutrition system. Then, why do many American have trouble in overweighting? I think it is for side menu with hamburger. When we order the hamburger, we don’t usually order only burger. Instead, we order the burger with French fries and coke. French fries fry in oil, and Coke contains lots of sugar. Rather than hamburger, side dish adds calories more.
Nowadays, many hamburger franchises are built in the world, and They occur many bad health problem either. However, instead of blaming high calories, we should choose our diet wisely.
my story3
There is a famous quote “A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” It is similar as the situation that is a cup filled with a half of water. When the pessimist first sees the glass, they might think the water only leave half. On the other hand, optimist think there is enough a glass of water. It makes a big difference.
In my case, I am actually a little pessimist. When something happen to me like taking a test, choosing classes, and selecting a part-time job, I always consider the worst situation. My mother told me that it influences your health badly and gives you lots of stress. However, I don’t think having pessimism is bad. It helps us to prepare.
Usually, having new opportunity makes someone feel exited, so they might decide impatiently; pessimist might decide the final decision through consistent consideration.

my story2
One of my friends is very similar as me. Her identity card number is almost same except the last number; mine is 1 and hers is 0. Also, her English name is Mickey and my English name is Amy, so we can connect our name like Amickey. To our surprise, her father and my father graduated same university. Like this we have so many similarities each other, but there are also differences between us.
First, she believes in Christianity, but my religion is Buddhism. Whenever we talk about the religions, we always collapse and argue about which god is much better. She really tries to change my faith.
Second, she doesn’t like to go pub, instead of liking to go café. Of course, I like going cafe, sometimes I want to go bar and club, but she wants to go back to home earlier, so when we meet, we always go to café. However, strangely, she could drink alcohol far better than me. I can’t drink more than three glasses of beer, but I think she is able to drink more than three bottles of beer.
Finally, I like puppy, but she likes kitty. Funnily enough, she looks like a cat, and I look like a dog. So, some of people make a nickname cats and dogs. I think our behaviors also take after the animals’
We have many commons and differences, but we are close friends, and we call us the relation of made by god. I really like her, and maybe she likes me. I would like to go on our relation forever.

my story.
I always take a number 153bus to go to a school, and it actually takes around 15minutes to get arrived the cal state fullerton. Once missing the bus, I have to wait another bus for an hour. As I first tried to take the bus since I've come here, I didn't know the exact bus time and system well, so I used to wait about 2~3 hours and pay more dollars.
Contrary to the Korea transportation system, the orange county transportation system is much worse. In Korea, the time of coming next bus is within 20 minutes; the maximum time I have to wait is just 20minutes. When I was in Korea, I would complain about my bus time, because my friends' bus comes every 5 minutes, but it is common in here waiting an hour.
I heard that the poor transportation system of Orange county is because everyboby has a car so they don't need to take a bus. However, considering the other side of this case, they have to use the car because of poor bus system. Jessica who is my homestay family has a car, and she always drives her car to go to school. One day, her car is broken, and she had to take the bus with me, but after using the bus, she is really pleased and always take the bus from that time.
There are lots of beautiful place in LA and Orange County. Unless the LA, and Orange County transportation authority improve the bus system, it will be very inconvient for citizen and international student like me.
